Save Hobart's Railway
Railway, not busway!
The Tasmanian Government plans to permanently tear up parts of our northern suburbs rail corridor to build a costly, less-effective busway. Once the tracks are gone, they are gone forever. Join thousands of Hobartians demanding a modern rail alternative.
What's at Stake?
Hobart can't afford to mess this up
We all know that Hobart's traffic problems are in desperate need of solutions — and the government's own studies and reports tell us that the most impactful and effective solution for Hobart's northern suburbs is passenger rail. Instead, they're ignoring their own evidence and proposing not only to build a brand new bus network costing nearly $1 billion dollars, but also to destroy 4km of Hobart's only railway line in the process. This reckless approach to infrastructure planning will deny Hobart the opportunity to ever build passenger rail.
